Hello,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Barbara Holmes and this business is Extraordinary Holmes. I have been involved in various aspects of the design field all of my adult life and have had an upholstery and custom sewing business for twenty something years. My work has been in Architectural Digest, Home Style (defunct), Metropolitan Home, Western Interiors and several books, and I work for some of the top designers in the nation. I’m not bragging, only letting you know that my workmanship is excellent.

Several years ago I started this side business in my "spare time" because I saw so many wonderful fabrics and trims and had so many ideas for them. Many of my private clients have bought similar creations to what I'm offering on this website. I am leaving out the superlatives in my descriptions of the photos, there are only so many jaw-dropping, stupendous and astounding that you want to read and I believe that the pictures speak for themselves. I usually have snippits of fabric and trim that I could send along if there are any questions. I try to remember or write down the manufacturer of the fabric and trim but it doesn't always happen.

There are many more pillows and other accessories in the works so if there is a particular color that you are looking for please let me know. Designers, your clients are looking for unique, beautifully made accessories which they won't see at a friends house and everything at Extraordinary Holmes fits that criteria. These accessories are perfect for a show house or the final touch in a room and everything is one of a kind or two of a kind because any amount over two I consider to be production work and I have an aversion to this. I design, stencil and sew everything myself. The business is run from my house and I'm usually around to answer questions.
